Daily Devotional Prayers

A good way to start the day is to offer a daily devotional to God. It centers us, calms us and helps us focus on the day's tasks at hand. Most of all, a daily devotional said in the morning upon arising, or while sitting in traffic, or in line at the bank or grocery store, keeps us mindful of the Lord's rightful place in our daily lives.

We are working to provide a thorough section of daily prayers. Some will be prayers for mornings, to begin the day, or evenings when the day concludes, but they can always be said anytime.

May the peace of God and the freshness of the Holy Spirit
Rest in your thoughts, rule in your dreams, tonight, and
Conquer all your fears.
May God manifest Himself today in ways you have never experienced!

And your prayers be answered. I pray that Faith enters a
New height for you; I pray that your territory is enlarged.

We give Thee thanks, Holy Lord, Father Almighty,
Everlasting God, who hast been pleased to bring us
Through the night to the hours of morning,
We pray Thee to grant us to pass this day without sin,
So that at eventide we may again give thanks to Thee;
Through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.

If I can do some good today;
If I can serve along life's way,
If I can something helpful say,
Lord, show me how.
If I can right a human wrong,
If I can help to make one strong,
If I can cheer with smile or song,
Lord, show me how!
If I can aid one in distress,
If I can make a burden less,
If I can spread more happiness,
Lord, show me how. Amen!

Love God with all your soul and strength,
With all your heart and mind;
And love your neighbor as yourself:
Be faithful, just and kind.

Deal with another as you'd have

What you are unwilling to receive,
Be sure you never do.

Lord, help me to unclutter my life,
To lead me in the direction of simplicity,
Teach me to listen to my heart,
Teach me to welcome change, instead of fearing it.
Lord, I give you these stirrings inside me,
I give you my discontent, my restlessness, my doubt,
I give you my despair, I give you all my longings
I hold inside. Help me to listen to these signs of change,
Of growth; to listen seriously and follow wherever they lead
Through the breathtaking empty space of your open door.
Amen!

Do not look forward to what may happen
tomorrow; the same everlasting Father who cares
for you today will take care of you tomorrow and
every day. Either He will shield you from suffering,
or He will give you unfailing strength to bear it.
Be at peace, then. Put aside all anxious thoughts and
imaginations, and say continually: "The Lord is my
strength and my shield. My heart has trusted in Him
and I am helped. He is not only with me but in me,
and I in Him.

Bless me, heavenly Father,
Forgive my erring ways,
Grant me strength to serve Thee,
Put purpose in my days.
Give me understanding
Enough to make me kind
So I may judge all people
With my heart and not my mind
And teach me to be patient
In everything I do,
Content to trust Your wisdom
And to follow after You
And help me when I falter
And hear me when I pray
Receive me in Thy Kingdom
To dwell with Thee someday!

Dear God, as I begin this day,
Let me turn my thoughts to you
And ask Your help in guiding me
In everything I say and do.

Give me the patience that I need
To keep my peace of mind
And with life's cares, I hope, dear God,
Some Happiness to find.

Let me live but for Today
Not worrying what's ahead,
For I have trust that you will see
That I get my "daily bread."

God's Angels guard and keep you
All the way that you must travel
Till earth's days are past
When blossoms fade and
Time is fleeting fast
In times of purest joy
Or pain and fear
God's Angels guard
And keep you safe.

I give thanks to God for this day, in which
My dream will flourish, my plans will succeed,
My destiny will be assured, and the desire of my heart
Will be granted in Jesus' name.

Before the end of this month.
As I awake this morning, may my life be clean,
Calm and clear as the early morning water.
May the grace of the Almighty support, sustain and
Supply all my needs according to His riches in glory.

thankful for Thy watchful care over me. Be Thou now
also with me during the darkness of the night. Watch
over me and let no evil come nigh unto me. Give unto me
sweet and refreshing rest, and grant that I may arise
again in health and vigor. Help me to be Thy loving child
and to grow in grace daily. All this I ask in Jesus' sake.
