Disrespectful Son Prayer

My son is so disrespectful to me. He lives here with me and my husband while he attends school. He is very controlling and confrontational. He says I'm judgmental when I won't agree with his opinions regarding scripture. He doesn't believe that scripture is God Breathed.

He is grossly verbally abusive. I can't take it much longer. My husband doesn't do much about it, I think he's afraid of a possible physical altercation with him. Please pray for us. I am ready to move out and leave them both here.

God helps those who help themselves

Your son needs help, but so do you and your husband. Can you seek counseling? You don't deserve this treatment. I've been through the same thing. Loving forgiveness may not be enough to help him.

I pray for you and your family.

Pray for your son. Tell him that you love him so much, but that he can not live with you in your home. You will always love him, but there will be no room for fear of physical violence in your home. Love him with prayer and tears. Mother Theresa said love hurts. It' O.K. Don't let discouragement and anxiety and fear stop you.

There is no shame in setting him up with a place of his own to help quicken the process,if at all possible. Then leave him to sort things out before he is welcome back. Set up Christian counselling for him too. And pray more, worship the Lord and trust Him more and more and love your son, but don't let him back in until the fear of violence is gone for good! Your whole family will be forever better off.

Then hold no grudges and always thank the Lord Jesus who is the one who heals all wrongs. Trust Him with all of your will and He will not let you down.

it will get better

I pray you have the strength to get through this rough patch. I live at home with my parents and my brother sounds similar to your son. He can be so agressive, moody and disrespectful of all our family members and it hurts seeing how much this affects my parents and our family. I feel it is a phase which will pass and will happen to most young boys at this age. Don't ever doubt what a good mother you are and have the faith and courage to believe things will get better. God will answer your prayers. I am thinking of you :)
