Help for a loved one dying of cancer

by Liz

O most Holy Apostle, Saint Jude, faithful servant and friend of Jesus, the Church honoureth and invoketh thee universally, as the Patron of Hopeless Cases, and of things almost despaired of.

Pray for me, who am so miserable. Make use, I implore thee, of that particular priveledge accorded to thee, to bring visible and speedy help where help was almost despaired of.
Come to mine assistance in this great need, that one dear to us who is suffering from incurable liver cancer might find a miracle; restrain the advance of this deadly disease upon one who is far too young to pass away from this world. He has so much to do, and to be, to go now. If it is the will of the Lord God Almighty to take him then we must accept it; but if you might plead for his life against all odds, in this most impossible of lost causes, we beg of you to do so. And if saving him is not possible, let him have an easy passing, and send his blessed grandmother to him to help him on his way and free him from fear and misgiving; let him be freed of pain and care, and be at peace with himself and the world. And for his widow, and the children he would leave behind, let a miracle happen for her, that she might find a good job to support them, and not lose her home. Let her be at peace and let those children of hers help and support her in this their great loss, of father and husband. Let especially her pregnant daughter, who has given them so much pain and trouble, be an helpmeet to her parents in this tribulation, and her husband too. And let the child to be born be a blessed child, this grandmother will need comfort and joy in her life after this. In Jesus' name I ask it; I will praise God with thee throughout eternity. God's will be done, but dear St. Jude, it does not hurt to ask. O blessed Jude, I will be ever mindfull of this great favor, and for all the other favors thou hast done for me. I will remember thee in my prayers, O blessed Jude. Amen.
