Learning to Abide

by Sally ()

Father, I submit my day to You. I ask forgiveness for my wrongdoing for not trusting You with the decisions I have to make and for worrying about these decisions. Forgive me for being judgmental and self-righteous. Forgive me for feeling put-upon or not appreciated by my daughter. Fill me until I’m overflowing with love for her and patience with her. Control my words, my thoughts, and my actions. Enable me through Your Holy Spirit to bring You honor and glory; to be a light to others, especially my daughter and my two granddaughters leading them to seek You first in their lives. Restore the damage I have done by my words and my actions. Use these next few months that we have together to be a time of healing for all of us, Father–a time of love and sharing, a time of tenderness and caring. Just wrap You loving arms around us, draw us close to You and protect each one of us from Satan and his minions, from all evil, from deadly diseases, from every trap. Be our refuge. Keep us focused on You and the path that You have developed for each one of us. Cause us to grow spiritually; increase our love for You, Your word, Your kingdom, Your redemption plan, and Your will. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen
