Heavenly Father,

336x280:
I pray in the name of JESUS, that you give my Daughter & Son-In- Law the strenght & courage to cope with the devastating news. As a grand mother, I too need your almighty power to be strong to help them stay encouraged. Lord , without you I don't know how to accept this. I am reminded that you said in your word, You will never leave us nor forsake us. Lord, I know You are a healer, & that You have the last say. I know You can heal & deliver. Help us most of all to continue to trust You to do what no power on earth can do.This prayer goes out to all other parents If not a cure I pray for effective treatment & control of symptoms.
Thank You Lord for hearing my prayer. Amen.

Hi there,
I saw your post and wanted to offer some words of encouragement. I'm an 18 year old who also has type 1 diabetes. I wanted to let you and your family know that while I do have struggles with the disease, I have had a very full and happy life thus far. I've lived overseas, traveled to multiple countries, have wonderful friends, and I'm attending college this upcoming spring hoping to obtain a degree in psychology. There will be many late nights (as I'm sure your daughter and her husband have experienced by now) and many scares. I'm sure life would have been a lot easier without it but, it has yet to keep me from achieving the goals and dreams I always had. I truly do believe everything happens for a reason, as difficult as it may be to believe sometimes. Aside from type 1, I also have celiac which can be a burden as well but I manage.
Anyways, the point I'm trying to make is no childhood or teen experiences were hindered because of the disease. And though there's a long road ahead for your grandchild, everything will be okay and they will come to terms with it so that the main focus of their life is not a number on a meter but their loved ones and aspirations for life.

Keep calm and remember to appreciate the life given,

from,
a type 1 child all grown up and thriving :)
