Scars - A Christian Poem

by John

No one knows the scars hidden deep inside,

336x280:
The mask I wear makes them easy to hide.
These scars I bare are still visible to me,
They fill my life with pain and misery.

So, what should I do with all these scars,
They wear on my life like prison bars.

You are not alone, for my scars are for you,
You are not alone, they bring healing to your pain.
So, give me your pain and I will wear those scars,
No need to wear them like heavy prison bars.

The abuse I took as a little child,
was bitter for me, for the attacks were vile.
These scars too are still visible to me,
For they are filled with pain and misery.

So, what should I do with all these scars,
They wear on my life like prison bars.

You are not alone, for my scars are for you,
You are not alone, they bring healing to your pain.
So, give me your pain and I will wear those scars,
No need to wear them like heavy prison bars.

I heard of a man who could heal my pain.
He bore scars for me, Jesus is His name.
These scars I bare are still visible to me,
But now the pain is gone, Jesus set me free.

So, what did I do with all of my scars?
I gave them to Jesus. He tore down those prison bars.

You are not alone. His scars are for you.
You are not alone. He'll bring healing to your pain.
So, give Jesus your pain and He will wear your scars.
No need for you to wear them like prison bars.
